All treatment starts with a thorough musculo-skeletal examination. This examination includes finding out the history of your particular injury as well as any other significant health issues you may have that will impact your recovery.

After we determine the history of your injury, we will go through the physical examination which will include both active (movements you initiate) and passive (movements I initiate) movement testing and any special tests required for your particular condition.

With the information gained during the assessment, I can then provide you with an analysis of the injury and recommendations on how to most rapidly resolve it.

The recommendations provided to you will be based on the principles of evidence based practice to ensure as rapid a recovery as possible while being designed to allow you the greatest independence. This ensures the least interference with your usual activities and helps minimize the financial cost to you.

To monitor the effectiveness of treatment, specific goals will be set and evaluated. These goals will focus on the areas that physiotherapy can influence: pain reduction, movement, strength and/or endurance restoration.

You will always finish treatment with an understanding of how to reduce the chance of experiencing similar symptoms again.
